The power of dance.   This week we have been able to celebrate dance at school. Students from Year 3 to Year 12 have been taking part in our own 'BREAKING NEWS' dance exhibition in our new auditorium. What a show! I was so impressed with the students (and the staff dance). It covered a range of themes and genres and all were executed with care, attention, love, and dedication.

On Wednesday, our BIS Abu Dhabi Community Group hosted the last Parent Coffee morning of the academic year, and it was an incredible success! 

Keeping up with the 'What I Want to be When I Grow Up' theme from our Early Years, this week, our Year 10 students stepped out of the classroom and into real-life experiences of work.

In Year 3, students embarked on an exciting journey of creativity and innovation by exploring the world of architecture.

Monday, 29th May was one of my favourite days of school. You must be wondering, what happened? I went on a trip to SeaWorld.

Last week, to celebrate the end of Nurseries 'People Who Help Us' topic, students came to school dressed as what they want to be when they grow up.

On Monday, our Community Group organised a special lunch to express their appreciation for the tireless dedication of our ancillary staff, who have been instrumental in caring for our school and our children throughout the entire year.

Dear Parents, Re: Parking and Road Safety As you are all aware at BIS Abu Dhabi we believe in fostering an environment that promotes kindness, honesty, and respect among our students, staff, and parents. We constantly strive to instil these values in our daily interactions, both within the school premises and beyond. I write to you with a gentle reminder regarding an important aspect of our collective responsibility: driving and parking with care and consideration when coming to and from the school.

In Nursery, the children have been learning about different people who help us.

On Thursday, 8th June it is World Oceans Day. All students are invited to make a video or E-poster with a group of friends or their family.

The stage was set, the audience were seated, and the new Creative Arts Centre was alive as Bugsy Malone, the musical, officially opened our new auditorium.

On Wednesday, 24th May, we said our official goodbyes to Year 13 in our annual IBDP Graduation ceremony. Liam Cullinan welcomed guests to the school, and everyone stood to applaud the graduates as they proceeded down the stairs to take their seats in the new auditorium.

Last Thursday, Year 2 had an immersive day of science investigations, all based around their current topic “A World of Pure Imagination”.

Our Year 8 Science students have been in Primary School this week teaching Year 4 students all about ‘sound’.

I write this newsletter following our first inaugural event in our new auditorium. It has that new smell, like when you get a new car. Everything in it is fresh, clean, and untouched. The paint is fresh, the carpet is clean and has that lovely springy feel to it. The doors are all untouched, not a mark on them. I can’t wait to see the first production take place next week – Bugsy Malone – what a treat we are all in for!

In honour of the Head of State, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed (May God protect him), and his slogan "Today for Tomorrow," our students have been working on small projects that support the vision of the United Arab Emirates in achieving sustainability. We have integrated the sustainability project with the topic of environmental issues in Arabic language classes for non-native speakers.

Last week, Key Stage 2 & 3 boys had their Celebration of Swim! They've dedicated themselves to refining their swimming skills and personal survival abilities, and their hard work paid off.
