As part of the CAS Project element of the IB Diploma Programme, Year 12 students Olympe and Hannah organised to give Ramadan gifts to the school’s auxiliary staff.

Ramadan is a month of giving and reflection for our community, and in the spirit of this we would like to encourage students to participate in the BIS Abu Dhabi Ramadan Service Challenge.

On Monday, 22nd March, our Year 12 students were introduced to some of the key components of the Extended Essay: Research Skills, Academic Honesty and the upcoming Extended Essay Cafe.

In Social Studies B, Year 9 students have been learning about water. They have looked at where water comes from in the UAE; specifically ground sources, desalination and cloud seeding. To encourage students to use their critical skills, a debate was held on the topic of cloud seeding.

On Thursday, 4th February, students had an amazing Virtual International Day. We had a wonderful day celebrating the diversity of our school community and its large number of different nationalities.

Our recent International Day celebrated the vast diversity we are fortunate to have at BIS Abu Dhabi, with students making up over 90 nationalities. Year 11 students Taabeer and Dania felt it was important for everyone in the community to always feel included, and as such have launched a new initiative called The Inclusivity Club.

A group of our IB Diploma Programme students would like members of the BIS community to share recipes from their home country to collate into one large cookbook.
