Our profile this week is Rachel Batty, a teacher from the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department and Head of Senior School.

We were excited to see so many Universities represented under one roof at our University Fair in conjunction with IDP which was held on Sunday.

Our caterers ADNH Compass will be holding an animal cookie decorating class for students from Year 1 to 6.

The aim of education is not just about academic attainment or whether a student is achieving exemplary test scores; it is in fact about developing an all-rounded student in all aspects. This includes the student’s intellectual, social, physical and moral capabilities, and it is important that your child strikes a balance in all these aspects.

Year 6 Students who have volunteered to act as Red Crescent ambassadors in school were very proud to hand over a donation of school books to the organisation on Thursday.

A weekly update from our PTA - 10 September 2019

Our profile this week is Kathryn Trowbridge, our Secondary Learning Centre Librarian.

In line with Health and Safety requirements, we must conduct two lockdown drills each school year. We have reviewed our calendars and have decided to hold the first drill for this year on Wednesday 18th September 2019.

In order to enable more students to be able to access after-school CCAs, we will be continuing to offer a CCA bus service during the Academic Year 2019-2020.

Students at both IB and IGCSE have achieved outstanding results and it is such a reward for their hard work as well as acknowledgement of the fantastic support from their teachers and parents.

Our profile this week is Denise Kelly, a French Teacher from the Modern Foreign Languages Department.

We are pleased to once again be offering a comprehensive programme of Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) in Term 1, for students in Years 1 - 13.

Year 12 students Solenn, Asim and Omar have represented The British International School Abu Dhabi at the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit in New York City. It was a productive week of learning about and discussing the Global Goals and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Congratulations to BIS Abu Dhabi 2018/19 graduates for their record-breaking IB Diploma results!

Each year, the capstone event with UNICEF is when students from Years 10-12 visit New York for the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit. Three students from The British International School Abu Dhabi will represent the school.

So we reach the end of yet another busy and successful year at the British International School Abu Dhabi. It is a time for reflection and celebration as students, parents and teachers get to relive the achievements of the year.
