Rizma Joshi joins BSB Shunyi as a Computer Science and ICT teacher with experience in British and Cambridge international schools. She has taught IGCSE and A Level Computer Science, as well as Business Studies.
Rizma holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and a Master’s degree in Psychology from RUDN University. She also holds a PGCE from the University of Derby and Qualified Teacher Status.
Before becoming a teacher, Rizma founded and managed an IT company in Nepal. This commercial experience gives her a practical understanding of how technology is developed and used beyond school. She brings this perspective into her lessons, helping students connect technical knowledge with real applications.
Rizma has established robotics clubs and coding programmes, led STEM initiatives and organised inter-school technology competitions. She also leads a year-long Software Incubator Programme in which students design and develop software to address real-world problems. The programme culminates in teams presenting working prototypes to a panel of investors, with some students continuing to develop their ideas as potential start-up ventures.
Rizma’s students have achieved strong results in IGCSE and A Level Computer Science. In the classroom, she combines careful structure with active problem-solving and encourages students to approach unfamiliar challenges with confidence.
Outside school, Rizma enjoys scuba diving and exploring new developments in technology.
