Meet the students who will be representing BSKL at the Nord Anglia Education UNICEF Summit.

A group of Early Years and Key Stage One Parents embarked on a journey together as part of our Parent Partnership Series. Mrs Emily Clark, Head of Reception and mother of 2 Primary aged children at BSKL, led the group of 14 parents through a series of 4 sessions focusing on how parenting can be difficult and how to make your way through some of the challenges and difficulties that you can face as a parent. The study group used the book 'Peaceful Parents, Happy Kids: How to Stop Yelling and Start Connecting' by Dr. Laura Markham to facilitate their discussions.

Our Primary parents in partnership workshops continued this week with a session on The Big 5 of Reading. 

On Wednesday 1st March we had our BSKL Science Fair.  Students from Y7 all the way through to Y13 have been working on their projects since just before the Christmas Holiday and they showcased their work to Y6; a select number of secondary students as well as parents in our exhibition event.  

With just a few days to go, BSKL students will be leading the BSKL Push-Up Challenge Inter-House Competition to raise awareness for the mental and emotional well-being of underprivileged children with life threatening illnesses in Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL).

It was a wonderful opportunity for more than 40 BSKL swimmers to take part in the GIS (Garden International School) Early Fire over the weekend of 11th and 12th February.

On Friday 17th February, after three long years, AIMS Primary Athletics finally returned! Our BSKL Lions spent weeks preparing for the big competition, practising their throws, runs and jumps during both after-school and lunchtime training sessions. They were raring to go, ready to compete at the highest level and proud to be representing BSKL.

On Saturday 18th February, sixty four of our secondary athletes travelled to Alice Smith International School to compete in the AIMS Secondary Track and Field 2022/23. This was the first time the competition had been held for over three years. The BSKL Lions were keen to put the months of training and preparation into action against nine other International Schools from around the region.

On Friday 18th February, BSKL celebrated the huge effort and generosity of the BSKL community by presenting cheques to the three charities that were involved in our Pink Day event.

Our Year 5 students have been learning about refugees from their class book ‘Refugee Boy’ by Benjamin Zephaniah.  After hearing the news that Turkey and Syria had been affected by a devastating earthquake they decided to help.

Being the first international swimming competition since the 2019 edition, that was held at the same venue of Bangkok Patana School (BPS), the hype of representing The British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) was abuzz for months in preparation leading up to this prestigious event. With the absence of British Schools from China, BSKL competed against 22 other schools for top honours. 

During our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion lessons, students from Year 1 to Year 6 learnt about gender bias and stereotypes.

We are so excited to be welcoming bestselling Malaysian author SHAMINI FLINT to BSKL as part of our whole school book week and World book day celebrations on 2nd and 3rd March 2023.

Representative from sixteen of the Russell Group Universities in the UK and twenty Universities in the USA will be visiting BSKL on Wednesday 8th March and Thursday 9th March (respectively) from 3.15pm - 4.15pm.

The Student Council’s Year 6 transition team put on an assembly on the 9th of February 2023 for the year 6 students as an introduction to their upcoming transition in the summer term.

On Tuesday 7th February, Year 11 students took part in the A-level Taster Day. This was the final step of the Year 11 Options Process.

Camp Beaumont Day Camps have been caring for children for over 40 years in the UK and now across Asia. BSKL is proudly partnered to be a Camp Beaumont host over term breaks starting this April. Here's a message from them.
