Oleg Popov is passionate about sports, education and personal development. Throughout Oleg's life, athletics has played an important role in shaping his discipline, determination, teamwork, and commitment to achieving his goals.
Oleg began his hockey development at the CSKA Academy, where he received professional-level training and developed his skills as a hockey player. Oleg continued his hockey career by playing junior hockey in the United States, in Chicago, Illinois, and later played college hockey while studying at Robert Morris University.
At Robert Morris University, Oleg studied Business Administration and graduated with a 4.0 GPA, earning a place on the Dean’s List. Balancing demanding academics with competitive hockey taught him the importance of time management, discipline, and perseverance.
Hockey continues to be an important part of his life. Although he has completed his formal college hockey career, Oleg continues to compete after work and stays active in the sport.
Football is another major passion of his and he currently plays in different football leagues across Moscow, which allow him to continue competing, challenge himself, and be part of different teams and communities.
His athletic experience extends beyond team sports. Oleg has been professionally trained for powerlifting competitions, developing strength, focus, and mental resilience. During high school, Oleg competed on teams in volleyball, basketball, track and field, and table tennis.
His experiences in many different sports have taught him that success is not only about talent. It comes from hard work, consistency, teamwork, and the willingness to keep improving. Oleg brings these values into both his professional and academic life, and he hopes to continue learning, competing, and challenging himself in everything he does.
