College Counseling at The Village School
Our comprehensive college counseling program provides all high school students with individualized attention. Students have the same college counselor for the duration of their time at Village, providing an opportunity for them to develop a strong relationship and understanding of the students wants and needs. By graduation, our students march on to top universities around the world as global change-makers. With structured support beginning as early as 8th grade, we counsel students early about their collegiate aspirations, helping them get into a top-choice school.

James Beeks
College Counselor
James Beeks brings over a decade of experience in education, including serving as an Admissions Counselor for The University of Texas at Austin. He has developed academic honor programs, guided students through the selective admissions process, and built partnerships that expand opportunities for learners.
Maria Correa-Rodriguez
Maria Correa-Rodriguez
College Counselor

Maria Correa-Rodriguez is a College Counselor at The Village School. She joined Village in 2020. Before that, she worked in college counseling in Puerto Rico. Maria earned her Master in Education (MEd.) degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Gloria Eligio is a College Counselor at the Village School. She joined Village in 2026. Prior to her time at The Village, she worked as a college counselor for an IB Program in Florida. Gloria has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of West Florida.

Alison Murray
College Counselor
Alison Murray is a College Counselor at The Village School . She joined Village in 2024. Before that, she served for 10 years in college access equalizing postsecondary opportunities for students across the city of Houston. Alison has a Bachelor's of Science degree from University of Houston. 
Latrale Walker
Latrale Walker
College Counselor

Latrale Walker is a  College Counselor at the Village School. She joined Village in 2026. With extensive experience across secondary and higher education, Latrale has served as a university admissions recruiter and held several CCMR focused roles throughout Houston. She holds a Master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Houston–Victoria and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Texas A&M University.
